Scope of Insurance Renewal Survey Report:

• The vessel has to be slipped or hauled for access for examination of the hull, below and above the waterline, keel, rudder/s, and stern gear and through hull fittings.
• Deck to hull attachments inspected where accessible without any dismantling, soundings /security of all deck fittings, shroud attachments and where applicable any deck caulking.
• The hull/s to be sounded externally, moisture meter readings taken (c), sample areas of antifouling removed (d) to expose the surface of the gelcoat/epoxy for examination, skin fittings and through hulls to be hammer tested.
• Internal sructural bulkheads, framing, keel fixings, rudder installation, skin fittings, stern gear and engine beds to be examined where accessible by the removal of normally portable panels and traps.
• The spars and standing rigging to be visually inspected as presented, i.e. at deck level if stepped, if unstepped and laid down a more detailed inspection.
• Anchor and chain inspected as presented and seen.
• Anchor windlass, steering gear, and hand operated bilge pumps to be examined and tested where possible.
• Gas, Fuel and electrical installations inspected, including battery installation.
• Fire fighting equipment.
• Engine installation examined visually (no internal tests or dismantling of machinery takes place)
• Security of all the washboards and deck hatches.
• Flares inspected

On completion a written report, with photographs where necessary, will be produced.

NOTES
It is important that the vessel is properly prepared for the of survey to be carried out and the following points need to be attended to prior to the examination otherwise further charges could apply:
a) All equipment to be examined is to be laid out for inspection and onboard the vessel
b) Where possible all loose, portable gear and owner’s personal equipment to be removed from the vessel.
c) The hull to be pressure washed with fresh water, to remove salt, marine fouling and slime and allowed to become completely dry. The bilges must be completely dry, clean and well ventilated, as the moisture meter being used will detect water in the bilge.
d) Unless a tin containing antifouling together with a brush are available at the time of survey, this will leave bare patches on the under water surface of the hull.
e) All surveys are subject to specific limitations and may be additional to those mentioned above.

These limitations may vary from survey to survey and will be stated within the report in addition to those mentioned.
