Types of Boat Survey
Scope of Insurance Renewal Survey Report:
On completion a written report, with photographs where necessary, will be produced.
NOTES
It is important that the vessel is properly prepared for the of survey to be carried out and the following points need to be attended to prior to the examination otherwise further charges could apply:
a) All equipment to be examined is to be laid out for inspection and onboard the vessel
b) Where possible all loose, portable gear and owner’s personal equipment to be removed from the vessel.
c) The hull to be pressure washed with fresh water, to remove salt, marine fouling and slime and allowed to become completely dry. The bilges must be completely dry, clean and well ventilated, as the moisture meter being used will detect water in the bilge.
d) Unless a tin containing antifouling together with a brush are available at the time of survey, this will leave bare patches on the under water surface of the hull.
e) All surveys are subject to specific limitations and may be additional to those mentioned above.
These limitations may vary from survey to survey and will be stated within the report in addition to those mentioned.
